Sponsored Walk

Sally Stuart and Chris Lea took part in the Sponsored Walk around Pitsford Reservoir on Easter Saturday morning for the Peterborough Diocesan Guild Bell Fund. We set off from Brixworth Country Park on a beautiful sunny morning and just made it back before the heavens opened, raising £230.00 from our efforts. Thank you to all who supported us.

Redecoration

Activity amongst the Bells has included a thorough inspection and a little maintenance to ensure no problems should arise in the near future. The Bell Chamber, Clock Chamber and Tower have been swept clean and the Bellframe has been wire brushed and undercoated in red oxide and top coated in grey paint. This was achieved over three Saturdays by members of the Northampton Branch of Church Bellringers and our own band.

V E Day

On Sunday 8 May, the 60th Anniversary of V E Day, the Church bells rang out joyfully for the 10am Sung Eucharist with our usual service ringers (Chris Lea, Harry Lovell, Walt Thompson, Sally Stuart and Helen Gaudin) much strengthened by Joanne and Jon Lovell of Towcester St Lawrence Band.

Peal

During the afternoon five ringers from Towcester St Lawrence Band, two of whom had that morning rung the bells of St Paul's Cathedral, London, rang a Peal of 5040 changes to commemorate Victory in Europe Day, and to mark Harry C Lovell's 70 years' service as a ringer at this church.
